How to replace the thermostat (LY7) on 2006 Cadillac SRX?

To replace the Thermostat (LY7), start by draining part of the cooling system. Recovering the upper manifold of the intake without detaching it from the lower Intake Manifold. Take off the surge tank hose from Thermostat, remove the coolant pipe/Thermostat housing bolt and the coolant pipe upper bolt. Next, unscrew the coolant inlet pipe from the Thermostat, then unscrew and remove the Thermostat bolts but the Thermostat and the Thermostat seal has to be discarded. For replacement, apply a new Thermostat seal using a new stem while placing a new Thermostat sealing brass beside the circulator motor. Assembled it with the Thermostat bolts and tighten to the press of 10 nm (89 inch lbs.). Return the coolant pipe with a new seal and fasteners (2 and 7) reconnect surge tank hose to the Thermostat and then install the upper Intake Manifold onto the lower Intake Manifold beforehand refilling the cooling system.
