Engine replacement begins by turning OFF ignition power then removing the rear supercharger inlet duct assembly. Pull the coolant level down to match the ECT sensor position. First disconnect the ECT sensor harness connector then remove the ECT sensor. The new sensor needs installation with the right application-specific part number. The threads of the sensor must be coated with GM P/N 1050805 sealer or an equivalent product before the ECT sensor is installed at a 20 N.m (15 lb ft) torque setting. Next reconnect the ECT sensor harness connector before reinstalling the rear supercharger inlet duct assembly along with topping off the coolant system.
