It is necessary to strip the front compartment sight shields as required, disconnecting engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor electrical connector before removing the coolant temperature sensor. Being the toughest, the coolant temperature sensor should be tightened to 22 N.m (16 lb ft) and the electrical connector be connected back. In addition, inspect and fill the cooling system if necessary, and finally, reinstall the front compartment sight shields.
