How to replace the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor on 2008 Cadillac STS?

Engine replacement of the Temperature Sensor should begin after waiting until the engine temperature has dropped to avoid coolant drain and potential safety hazards. Before beginning the task turn off the ignition and extract the engine oil dipstick indicator. Move the electrical connector heat protector off the electrical connector and detach the coolant temperature sensor electrical connector. Remove the coolant temperature sensor. Begin the installation of the coolant temperature sensor by tightening it to 22 N.m (16 lb ft). Connect the coolant temperature sensor electrical connector before placing the electrical connector heat protector back onto the electrical connector. Complete cooling system inspection and filling operations using Cooling System Draining and Filling (Static Fill) procedures found in GE 47716.
