To change the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor (LLT) (3.6L), start by making sure the engine is no longer hot to avoid burns and unnecessary coolant loss. The first step is to turn the ignition off and take out the engine oil dipstick indicator. After that, take off the heat protector from the electrical connector and remove the coolant temperature sensor's electrical connector. Remove the coolant temperature sensor. For installation, make sure to screw in the new sensor to 22 Nm (16 lb ft) and attach the electrical connector. Put the electrical connector heat shield back on the connector. Check over the cooling system and top up the fluid if needed, using the steps listed in Cooling System Draining and Filling (GE 47716).
