In order to service the fluid pan in the 5L40-E/5L50-E automatic transmission, lift the car and empty the fluid. Install a drain plug, and take off the fluid pan bolts and clean the parts. Change the fluid filter seals, and install the filter, and reconnect the fluid pan. Stuff the transmission and check leakage.
