2006 Chevrolet Colorado Pilot Bearing Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the pilot bearing on 2006 Chevrolet Colorado?
A: You need two tools to undertake a Pilot Bearing replacement: clutch Pilot Bearing remover (J 43276) along with Pilot Bearing and Flywheel locator installer (J 45949). Begin by removing the Flywheel. The clutch Pilot Bearing remover (J 43276) enables extraction by using a clutch Pilot Bearing remover tool body (J 43276-1) to insert into the clutch Pilot Bearing before securing it with a wrench both to stop rotation. Turn the j 43276-2 anti-clockwise while it remains within the j 43276-1 so you can remove the j 43276-1 from the tool body itself. The worn-out clutch Pilot Bearing needs to be disposed. The Pilot Bearing and Flywheel locator installer (J 45949) needs to be placed into the new clutch Pilot Bearing before installing the bearing into the crankshaft while maintaining a depth of 11.6 mm (0.457 inch). Install the Flywheel after discarding the j 45949 tool.
