2006 Chevrolet Equinox Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the instrument panel Fuse Box on 2006 Chevrolet Equinox?
A: The replacement process for instrument panel electrical center or junction block requires you to turn off the ignition while keeping track of all radio stations before beginning. Begin replacement of the instrument panel electrical center or junction block by removing battery cooling box screws and removing the battery cover. The maintenance procedure starts with negative Battery Cable removal before taking off the positive cable. Move on by taking off the console and unscrewing the nut which secures three fuse block connectors: the body 68-way connector and the i/p 68-way connector and the i/p 24-way connector from the back of the i/p fuse block. First remove the bolt which secures both the fuse block and ground wire before taking out the fuse block. To install the fuse block position it properly then attach the ground wire before using the bolt to secure it while tightening it to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Secure all harness connectors at the back of the i/p fuse block using torque of 4 n.m (35 lb in). Reinstall the console before threading the positive Battery Cable while tightening its bolt to 17 n.m (13 lb ft) and subsequently tightening the negative cable to the same torque. Return the battery cooling box cover and fasten it with screws while tightening them to 2 n.m (18 lb in). Also reset radio stations back to their previously selected presets.
