2006 Chevrolet HHR Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the harmonic balancer on 2006 Chevrolet HHR?
A: The Drive Belt must be removed before starting crankshaft balancer replacement. The crankshaft balancer holder (J 38122-A) will prevent crankshaft rotation during bolt removal of the crankshaft balancer bolt that needs replacing. You must first put the new crankshaft balancer in position before installing a new crankshaft balancer bolt on it. The crankshaft balancer holder (J 38122-A) should support the balancer before you tighten the bolt using the tool. Use the angle meter (J 45059) to tighten the crankshaft balancer bolt to 100 nm (74 ft. Lbs.) with an additional turning of 125 degrees. Finally, reinstall the Drive Belt.
