2007 Chevrolet HHR Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the harmonic balancer on 2007 Chevrolet HHR?
A: The first step to change the crankshaft balancer requires removing the Drive Belt. The crankshaft balancer holder (J 38122-A) should be used to stop crankshaft rotation before loosening the crankshaft balancer bolt and afterward the bolt must be discarded. The next operation is to extract the crankshaft balancer. Lay the new crankshaft balancer into position and torque in a new crankshaft balancer bolt. The crankshaft balancer holder (J 38122-A) should maintain balancer stability when torqueing the bolt. Conclude the crankshaft balancer bolt installation by using an angle meter (J 45059) to achieve a torque of 100 n.m (74 lb ft) and 125 degrees. Reinstall the Drive Belt last.
