2006 Chevrolet Impala Transmission Oil Cooler Hose Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Transmission Oil Cooler Hose on 2006 Chevrolet Impala?
A: Replacement of the transmission fluid cooler hose/pipe requires starting by breaking disconnected the transaxle oil cooler (TOC) outlet hose from its position at the Radiator top before raising and maintaining vehicle support. A drain pan needs to be placed below oil cooler hoses before you remove the toc hose retainer bolt. First disconnect the toc outlet hose from the transaxle then move on to disconnect both toc inlet hose from the transaxle and toc outlet hose from the Radiator. The technician must disconnect toc hoses from their position on the Radiator support before removing both toc hoses from the automotive system. The installation of new transaxle oil cooler pipes and hoses requires proper space availability to avoid damage that could lead to fluid leakage. Reinstall the toc hoses by connecting them to their proper places which include Radiator support retainer and Radiator and transaxle in sequential order. Fasten the toc hose retainer together with its bolt while tightening it to 25 nm (18 ft.lb. Torque). Begin by lowering the vehicle and you should attach the toc outlet hose to the top side of the Radiator. End by matching the fluid level precisely to prevent foaming which might lead to fluid loss combined with shift complaints and possible damage.
