How to replace the multifunction turn signal switch on 2006 Chevrolet Malibu?

Before working on the Multifunction Turn Signal Switch you need to disable the SIR system. First take off the top and bottom trim panels before unplugging the electrical components. The plastic retention clips holding the MFTS to the stalk switch mount need to be pulled apart before the entire MFTS can be taken out. Set the multifunction switch onto the stalk switch mount then connect all electrical connections. Reinstall both trim panels afterward and activate the SIR system.
