2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the steering knuckle on 2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo?
A: To replace the Steering Knuckle, lift and appropriately support the vehicle, first. Take away the bearing/hub assembly, and then unscrew the front lower control arm ball stud, and the outmost part of the Steering Knuckle's Tie Rod End. Scribe the strut to the knuckle and then remove the bolts and nuts attaching the strut hat the knuckle and finally take the knuckle of the vehicle. For installation, put back the knuckle on the vehicle and install the knuckle struts to bolt with nuts followed by tightening the strut to knuckle bolts at 130 nm(96 ft. Lbs.). Next, install the outer tie rod to Steering Knuckle, and attach the front lower control arm ball stud to it as well. Installer the front wheel drive shaft bearing, lower the vehicle, and check the front wheel alignment at last and adjust if necessary.
