2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the rear suspension sway bar link on 2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo?
A: The first step before changing the Sway Bar Link in the rear suspension involves lifting the vehicle and providing adequate support. Disassemble the Sway Bar Link by removing both its Sway Bar Link nut and Sway Bar Link and Sway Bar Link nut. Reassemble by installing the Sway Bar Link first into position and then connecting it to Sway Bar Link and sway bar. The Sway Bar Link must be removed from the vehicle after disabling its seals. Place the Sway Bar Link inside the vehicle until it reaches the sway bar while continuing with the installation steps. Begin the installation by tightening the lower Sway Bar Link nut at 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.) while connecting it between the Sway Bar Link and sway bar. The Sway Bar Link can be mounted to the strut after which the upper Sway Bar Link nut should be installed on both components. Tighten this nut to 52 nm (38 ft. Lbs.). Finally, lower the vehicle.
