How to replace the front brake calipers on 2006 Chevrolet SSR?

Before starting work lift the car and take off the wheel to access the front brake caliper. After disconnecting the front brake bolt you must plug the front brake caliper hose to keep brake fluid from spilling out and getting contaminated. Exchange older metal/copper gaskets with fresh copper gaskets when upgrading the front brake caliper. Disconnect the front brake caliper from the mounting bracket through its guide pin bolts. To prepare the brake caliper guide pin for reuse spray it with denatured alcohol and blow it dry with non-oiled filter air. You should put high temperature silicone brake lubricant onto the brake caliper guide pin but keep it away from brake pad components. Then put the front brake caliper onto the mounting bracket. Secure the front brake caliper guide pin bolts at 42 nm but use 31 ft. Lbs. Torque. Install a fresh copper gasket for the caliper bolt section and place the front brake hose bolt along with its gaskets. Tighten the brake hose bolt to 40 nm tension while observing the 30 ft. Lbs. Unit. Drain the hydraulic brake system then install the tire and wheel elements before safely lowering the vehicle.
