How to replace the front brake calipers on 2005 Chevrolet SSR?

Before working on the front brake caliper you must lift the vehicle and take off both wheel and tire. To stop brake fluid leaks you must disconnect the front brake hose bolt and install a safety plug at the front brake caliper end. Use fresh copper gaskets instead of removing and disposing old metal ones. Seize the brake caliper guide pin bolts and unfasten the front brake caliper from the mounting bracket. It is essential to clean the guide pin with denatured alcohol before treating it with non-lubricated filtered air. You should apply brake lubricating silicone to the caliper guide pins only and then install the front brake caliper onto its mounting bracket. Use high torque to install the front brake caliper guide pin bolts at 42 nm torque setting. Insert metal and copper gaskets at the front Brake Caliper Bolt and brake hose bolt before attaching the front brake hose bolt and torquing it to 40 nm (30 foot-pounds). Drain hydraulic brake fluid from the system and replace the tire before bringing the vehicle to its ground level.
