2006 Chevrolet SSR Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Center Console on 2006 Chevrolet SSR?
A: Start by taking off the console upper trim plate to access replacement. The upper 2 screws near the Body Control Module need removal. For console installation place the gearshift in park and move the park brake lever to its maximum upward position. First place the console forward to free the front retaining tabs and pull the rear section upward until the console releases from the vehicle. Installation begins through rear console lifting followed by vehicle insertion and rear console hanging back to engage the front retaining tabs. Put the park brake lever entirely down and move the gearshift to its low setting. The 2 upper screws near the Body Control Module require 2.5 n.m (22 lb in) of torque force to tighten then the console upper trim plate gets installed last.
