  Q: How to replace the Center Console on Chevrolet SSR?

  A: The first step when replacing the console involves removing the upper trim plate of the console. You must remove the upper 2 screws which are near the Body Control Module. Set the gearshift to park and activate the park brake lever to its complete up position. Pull the controller forward to disengage the front tabs before pulling the console out from the vehicle at its rear section. To install begin by lifting the rear of the console then position it into the vehicle while maintaining grip to allow entry of the front retaining tabs. First move the gearshift selector to low position followed by setting the park brake lever to full down position. You should place the 2 upper screws near the Body Control Module then tighten them to 2.5 n.m (22 lb in) before installing the console upper trim plate.
