How to replace the air conditioning drive belt on 2006 Chevrolet Suburban 1500?

The first step to replace the air conditioning Drive Belt requires removing the accessory Drive Belt followed by securely raising the vehicle. Unfasten and remove both engine shield bolts followed by the engine shield. A ratchet inserted into the opening of the a/c belt tensioner adapter must be used to rotate the tensioner in a clockwise direction before the belt can be removed from the pulleys. Clean and inspect the belt sides of all pulleys while the ratchet is removed from the a/c belt tensioner which you have carefully untensioned. Place the a/c belt around the crankshaft balancer before inserting a ratchet into the tensioner adapter opening to let out tension from the a/c Drive Belt tensioner. After positioning the a/c belt on the idler pulley and a/c compressor pulley begin slowly letting go of the a/c belt tensioner tension until you can remove the ratchet. Before putting back the engine shield and tightening engine shield bolts to 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.), check that the a/c belt has correct placement and positioning. To complete the process lower the vehicle until you can install the accessory Drive Belt.
