The first step to replace a Knock Sensor (KS) on Bank 1 requires turning off ignition then supporting the vehicle with stand. Access the wiring harness requires moving its heat shield. Next disconnect the KS electrical connector then remove the KS bolt before extracting the KS. After positioning the new KS follow the Fastener Notice while tightening its KS bolt to 23 N.m (17 lb ft). After reconnecting the KS electrical connector the wiring harness heat shield needs to return to its original position while the vehicle lowers slowly.
