2007 Buick Lucerne Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the engine flywheel on 2007 Buick Lucerne?
A: The first step to replace the engine Flywheel requires complete removal of the transaxle. The technician should install the Flywheel holder (J 37096) on a ratchet before securely attaching it to the Flywheel to prevent movement. Leave one Flywheel bolt at the top of the Crankshaft as you loosen all remaining bolts and remove seven bolts from the engine Flywheel. Hold the engine Flywheel tightly before removing the remaining bolt because dropping the Flywheel must be avoided. Install the new Flywheel after which you should install the new Flywheel bolts with tight torque specifications. The Flywheel holder (J 37096) with a ratchet enables you to maintain Flywheel stability during this process. Apply torque to the Flywheel bolts by using the torque angle meter (J 45059) to reach 15 n.m (11 lb ft) torque followed by a 50-degree extension of the torque angle. Finally, reinstall the transaxle.
