2008 Buick Lucerne Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the engine flywheel on 2008 Buick Lucerne?
A: You must detach the transaxle before you start with the engine Flywheel replacement. Proceed by fastening the Flywheel holder (J 37096) to a ratchet before attaching it to the Flywheel for holding it stationary. The first step should involve tightening only the top crankshaft-rotation bolt on the engine Flywheel. This allows the mechanic to remove seven of the eight existing Flywheel bolts. Hold the engine Flywheel securely before you-remove the final bolt which should be done without letting the Flywheel fall. Place the new Flywheel then install and tighten brand-new Flywheel fasteners. The operation requires the Flywheel holder (J 37096) and ratchet as tools to stabilize the Flywheel so that bolts can be tightened with the torque angle meter (J 45059) to 15 n.m (11 lb ft) plus 50 degrees of additional torque. Finally, reinstall the transaxle.
