The boot seal must be removed first followed by the Steering Shaft seal and sensor retainer and sensor locator from the Steering Shaft before removing the steering wheel position sensor. Installation of the new steering wheel position sensor requires positioning it onto the Steering Shaft first before installing the sensor locator and sensor retainer and Steering Shaft seal and boot seal . Reinstall the Steering Column after completing sir system activation.
