2007 Buick Rainier Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the A/C Hose assembly (LL8) on 2007 Buick Rainier?
A: The process starts with refrigerant recovery before replacing the compressor hose assembly (LL8). After component setup the halogen leak detector (J39400-A) should be used to identify any leakage at component fittings. First detach the compressor hose assembly nut before removing the compressor hose assembly from the compressor and its sealing washers. You must first loosen the accumulator's compressor suction hose nut to remove both the suction hose and its o-ring seal. Remove the bolt from the lift bracket and the nut from the engine stud so you can remove the compressor discharge hose from the condenser while plugging all open connections with o-ring seals securely in place. Start installation by putting on new o-ring seals followed by attaching the compressor discharge hose to the condenser . Tighten the hose nut until it reaches 28 n.m (21 lb ft). First install the compressor hose through the driver wheel opening until its connector ends while tightening the nut with 48 n.m (35 lb ft) torque. Next connect the compressor suction hose to the engine stud using 48 n.m (35 lb ft) torque. First fasten the compressor suction hose to the engine lift bracket then install the bolt while securing it with 48 n.m (35 lb ft) torque setting followed by connecting the suction hose to the accumulator then secure the compressor suction hose nut using 48 n.m (35 lb ft) torque. Secure the retaining nut to 33 n.m (24 lb ft) after installing the sealing washers and connecting the compressor hose assembly to the compressor. Drain the a/c system then charge it with refrigerant.
