2007 Buick Rainier Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the vacuum brake booster on 2007 Buick Rainier?
A: Apply the parking brake and take off the master cylinder before starting to replace the vacuum Brake Booster. First, separating the vacuum hose from the vacuum booster and the engine, then take the left closeout/insulator panel off. After that, detach the Pushrod retainer from the brake pedal pin and take off the stop lamp switch along with the Pushrod attached. After that, take off the vacuum booster mounting nuts and lift out the vacuum booster assembly, and make sure to remove the gasket too. For fitting, first put the gasket and vacuum booster assembly in place, then fit the mounting nuts and tighten them to 36 n.m (27 lb ft). Set the stop lamp switch onto the Pushrod , position it onto the brake pedal pin, and then put the Pushrod retainer on; it will snap in place. Put the left closeout/insulator panel back in, attach the vacuum hose from the vacuum booster to the engine, and fit the master cylinder.
