2006 Buick Rainier Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the vacuum brake booster on 2006 Buick Rainier?
A: Start your Brake Booster replacement by engaging the parking brake while taking off the master cylinder. Detach the vacuum hose from both vacuum booster and engine components before taking away the left closeout/insulator panel. You must first remove the brake pedal Pushrod retainer from its bracket before taking off the stop lamp switch and Pushrod attached to the same pin. Untighten the vacuum booster mounting nuts to take out both the booster and its gasket seal set. Start by putting the vacuum booster assembly with its gasket in place and fasten the vacuum booster mounting nuts to 36 nm (27 ft. Lbs. Torque). Clip the stop lamp switch onto the Pushrod before placing it onto the brake pedal pin and inserting the Pushrod retainer onto the pedal pin. Reinsert the left panel and join both hoses to their target components before placing back the master cylinder.
