2007 Buick Rainier Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the rear brake line on 2007 Buick Rainier?
A: Replacements of rear brake hoses begin by elevating the vehicle then disconnecting the tire and wheel assembly. Remove any foreign matter and dirt buildup from the brake hose and brake pipe fittings. Insert rubber plugs or caps on the brake pipe fitting outlets to stop fluid leakage and contamination during brake hose removal by using a back up wrench. Next use a wrench to remove the Brake Line's bolt from the frame and the brake hose bolt from the caliper while carefully extracting any adhered metal gaskets found at both ends. Throw the copper gaskets out because you must never reutilize them. New copper gaskets must go onto the rear Brake Caliper Bolt for installation. Secure the rear brake hose to its corresponding place on the rear brake caliper by tightening the bolt to 44 n.m (23 lb ft). Proceed by removing the rubber plug or cap from the rear brake pipe fitting before attaching the brake pipe to the brake hose and torquing the rear brake pipe fitting to 20 n.m (18 lb ft) using a back up wrench. Mount the brake pipe retaining bolt on the frame before screwing it tight to 20 n.m (18 lb ft). The hydraulic brake system must be bleed before installing the tire and wheel assembly then lowering the vehicle to its position.
