2007 Buick Terraza Ball Joint Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the lower ball joint on 2007 Buick Terraza?
A: Before starting work you need to take out the Control Arm and clamp it in a tension device. You need to chisel away the ball stud rivet heads before hitting the rivets with a hammer and drift punch to free the stud from the lower Control Arm. Connect the ball stud to the lower Control Arm and fasten the bolts onto it so they point downward away from the stud. You can reassemble the fastener only when both parts remain rust-free and clean and when the fastener generates 2 n.m (18 lb in) of resistance before limiting; else you must replace it. Thread the new ball stud nuts into position and torque them to 68 n.m (50 lb ft) before placing back the decreased Control Arm.
