2007 Buick Terraza Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Heated Oxygen Sensor 1 on 2007 Buick Terraza?
A: Handle the Oxygen Sensor with caution for safety while keeping the electrical connector and louvered end totally free from contaminants such as dirt and grease during replacement of heated Oxygen Sensor 1. The technician must refrain from using any cleaning solvents for the procedure. Operating performance of sensors deteriorates when technicians detach the pigtail attached to heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) or Oxygen Sensor (O2S). You should replace the entire Oxygen Sensor when pigtail wiring or connector or terminal damage occurs because attempts to repair these will alter the air reference and reduce the sensor's performance capacity. During maintenance avoid putting contact cleaner on sensors or vehicle harness connectors while ensuring the sensor pigtail and wiring remains visible and protecting lead wires from excessive bends and kinks and never detach Oxygen Sensor grounding wires unless required and maintain vehicle harness connector seals to stop water entry. Sustainability requires packard's crimp and splice seals terminal repair kit for any needed engine harness repairs with an exclusion of soldering. Begin by removing the intake manifold cover and then remove the connector position assurance (CPA) retainer before disconnecting the engine harness electrical connector from the ho2s connector. To replace the ho2s sensor start by elevating the car and disconnecting the ho2s electrical connector from the ignition coil bracket and securing the ho2s from the Exhaust Manifold. When re-installing apply p/n 12377953 anti-seize compound to the old sensor threads before installing the ho2s to the Exhaust Manifold and tightening it to 42 n.m (31 lb ft). Install the ho2s connector electrical connector back to the engine harness before securing the cpa retainer and attaching the ho2s connector to the ignition coil bracket. Then lower the vehicle before reinstalling the intake manifold cover.
