First eliminate the instrument panel (I/P) carrier together with all insulation surrounding the A/C Expansion Valve (TXV). The first step is removing the hvac line clamp screw before taking away the hvac line clamp. Subsequently remove the A/C Expansion Valve to Evaporator bolts then the A/C Expansion Valve line bracket. One must split the A/C Expansion Valve from the Evaporator core with a straight-out pull then discard both o-rings along with the A/C Expansion Valve. When installing the A/C Expansion Valve system start by adding new o-rings before connecting the a/c lines to the A/C Expansion Valve devices and then attaching the A/C Expansion Valve to the Evaporator core. The installation process involves placing the A/C Expansion Valve line bracket while tightening the A/C Expansion Valve to Evaporator bolts to 3.5 n.m (31 lb in). It is essential to install the hvac line clamp and its screw before tightening it to 1 n.m (9 lb in). You must place the insulation onto the lines and A/C Expansion Valve before reinstalling the instrument panel (I/P) carrier while evacuating the a/c system with the halogen leak detector (J 39400-A).
