    The first step for replacing the A/C Expansion Valve involves recovering the refrigerant from the a/c system. The instrument panel (I/P) carrier needs removal according to both left-hand and right-hand drive protocols. You should first remove insulation from the A/C Expansion Valve and then take out the hvac line clamp screw with its clamp afterward. The process starts by removing two A/C Expansion Valve to Evaporator bolts before the a/c line bracket which enables a straight pull-out action from the Evaporator core. Discard all o-rings. Installation of the A/C Expansion Valve starts with applying new o-rings followed by attaching the a/c lines to the A/C Expansion Valve before installing it onto the Evaporator core. Attach the a/c line bracket then install the A/C Expansion Valve on Evaporator bolts by tightening them to 3.5 nm (31 lb in). Install the hvac line clamp and tighten its screw to 1 nm (9 lb in). Return the insulation to apply on the lines and A/C Expansion Valve while reinstalling the instrument panel (I/P) carrier. The ending procedure requires evacuation of the a/c system together with halogen leak detector (J 39400-A) used for performing leak tests on the fittings.
