• Q: How to replace the right exhaust manifold (LH2) on 2007 Cadillac SRX?

  A: The right Exhaust Manifold (LH2) replacement process requires first removing the cross vehicle brace followed by the air cleaner outlet duct and power steering pump reservoir nuts before setting the reservoir nearby. The subsequent steps in the procedure require the removal of accessory drive belts and the generator in addition to the engine splash shield and front wheelhouse liner and floor tunnel brace. The exhaust pipe nuts of both left and right catalytic converters should be removed after applying lubricant to exhaust system insulators while unconnecting the right and left heated oxygen sensor pigtails from their harness connectors. An assistant helps detach the exhaust system both from the insulators and the vehicle after which the right Exhaust Manifold heat shield can be removed. The o2 sensor lead needs to be detached from the Exhaust Manifold before proceeding to remove the right Exhaust Manifold bolts and nuts while discarding the bolts. Install the heated oxygen sensor together with a new Exhaust Manifold Gasket above the Cylinder Head studs when the components were previously removed. Install the right Exhaust Manifold and gasket onto the right Cylinder Head before placing the Exhaust Manifold studs and its accompanying nuts and bolts. Tighten all components starting with studs to 6 n.m (53 lb in), nuts to 25 n.m (18 lb ft), and bolts to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). A team member should hold up the exhaust after applying lubricant on insulators. Then position the exhaust onto its mounting location. Use the appropriate torque to install left and right Catalytic Converter to exhaust pipe nuts. The recommended torque value is 30 n.m (22 lb ft). Install the floor tunnel brace and power steering pump reservoir along with generator before connecting right and left heated oxygen sensor pigtails to their wiring harness connectors. Secure all nuts to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Add the accessory drive belts while installing the front wheelhouse liner together with the engine splash shield and air cleaner outlet duct and the cross vehicle brace.
