  • Q: How to replace the A/C Accumulator in a system on 2007 Chevrolet Aveo?
    A: In order to remove the accumulator, start by disconnecting the negative cable from the battery and retrieve the refrigerant. Unscrew the screw keeping the receiver-dryer band clamp in place and remove the receiver-dryer with the help of the bolts. Drain the oil from receiver-dryer to a container, determine its quantity, and dispose the used oil. Before installing the new receiver-dryer, fill it up with the same amount of oil that was taken out. Replace the new receiver-dryer with the new o-rings installed into the seal area recess of the receiver-dryer and fix it with the clamp. Mount the connector block anti-retaining bolt on to the receiver-dryer, torquing it to 14 n.m (10 lb ft) and mount and tighten the band clamp bolt. Finally, reattach the negative Battery Cable, and evacuate/recharge the a/c system.
