2007 Chevrolet Aveo Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the A/C Expansion Valve on 2007 Chevrolet Aveo?
A: The first step to replace the thermal expansion valve consists of disconnecting the negative Battery Cable while recovering the refrigerant. Begin by unfastening the liquid evaporator pipe connector block retaining nut at the cowl then remove all expansion valve connector block retaining bolt followed by removing the expansion valve from its position and discarding the old o-rings. Clean both ends of the o-rings before adding new ones onto evaporator tubes and placing a new expansion valve in position. Install and tighten the expansion valve retaining bolts to 12 n.m (106 lb in). The liquid evaporator pipe connecting block retaining nut needs installation at the cowl position where torque should be spaced at 15 n.m (11 lb in). To complete the procedure the negative Battery Cable must be reconnected while the system needs evacuation and recharging.
