A: Before replacing the Blower Motor start by unplugging its electrical connector. Use a small chisel to break off the lower Blower Motor cover heat stakes before taking out the cover. When you take out the nuts from the Blower Motor you need to cut through the case straight ahead to install the new motor cup; do not cut beyond what is needed to protect the case. Use a sharp utility knife to cut between the circular ribs of the lower case around the motor and remove the Blower Motor with attached cup. Press the motor retainer to remove it from the cup. Position the Blower Motor into the motor cup that was removed from the lower case and install the Blower Motor nuts while tightening them to 2.4 n.m (21 lb in). Secure the service ring securely to the motor cup with the hardware components from the kit by tightening it to 1.8 n.m (15 lb in). Connect the Blower Motor electrical connector toward the back of the vehicle and install the hvac module screws. Tighten these screws to 1.8 n.m (15 lb in). Insert the lower Blower Motor cover then attach its retaining screws. Tighten the screws to 1.8 n.m (15 lb in) and link back the Blower Motor connection.
