2007 Chevrolet Colorado Rocker Arm Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the valve rocker arm and valve lash adjuster on 2007 Chevrolet Colorado?
A: Start by collecting all essential tools for the replacement task which includes the en-47945 valve spring compressor (EN-47945). Start by removing the camshaft cover followed by Crankshaft rotation until the affected cylinder valve reaches full opening position while the cam lobe maximally presses the spring. A specific engine configuration in some areas permits attachment of the tool to the Cylinder Head with one fastener only. Fasten the en-47945 tool against the engine Cylinder Head through one or two supplied fasteners in the coil fastener hole while being mindful to prevent engine rotation to protect the valves from damage. The clockwise engine rotation places the cam on base circle position that maintains spring compression allowing the removal of the Lash Adjuster and rocker. Clean and inspect the valve Rocker Arm while removing the valve Lash Adjuster and then proceed to inspect both components. Before installing the components both valve rocker arms need oil lubrication as well as oil filling in the valve lash adjusters. Use counterclockwise engine rotation to let the cam lobe complete its depression of the spring during installation. Finish the operation by installing the camshaft cover after removing and reusing the en-47945 from the Cylinder Head during each necessary procedure.
