How to replace the intermediate exhaust pipe on a 6.0L engine on 2007 Chevrolet Corvette?

A secure vehicle lift should be established before placing adjustable jack stands under both the front and rear parts of the intermediate pipe for replacement purposes. Before separating the left and right mufflers from the intermediate pipe it is necessary to loosen the exhaust Muffler band clamps (2, 5). First remove the Exhaust Pipe hanger lower bolts until they are loose. Then remove the intermediate pipe-to-catalytic converter pipe nuts as well as the exhaust seal. Next remove the jack stands after lowering them while taking away the intermediate pipe. During original intermediate pipe replacement it is necessary to replace the tail pipe/Muffler band clips after grinding the welds and reinstalling new clips at marked positions. Clean the left and right Muffler contact points on the intermediate pipe and apply a tiny lubricant amount between the pipes and mufflers. Install the intermediate pipe onto jack stands before lifting it while performing the installation step. The installer should apply the exhaust seal before joining the intermediate pipe to both left and right mufflers while hand-tightening the retaining nuts to ensure correct alignment. The service technician must tighten the Muffler clamps to 44 n.m (32 lb ft) and the intermediate pipe-to-catalytic converter pipe nuts to 16 n.m (12 lb ft) and the Exhaust Pipe hanger lower bolts to 50 n.m (37 lb ft). Finally, lower the vehicle.
