2007 Chevrolet Equinox Brake Master Cylinder Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the brake master cylinder on 2007 Chevrolet Equinox?
A: The Brake Fluid Level Sensor electrical connector should be detached first from its Brake Fluid Level Sensor during replacement of the Brake Master Cylinder. Before proceeding with brake pipe disconnection from the master cylinder apply rubber caps or plugs to protect the exposed fitting ends from fluid loss and contamination. Start by plugging the open brake pipe ends and detach the master cylinder mounting nuts before removing the master cylinder from the vehicle. Drain all the brake fluid from the reservoir during this process. Bleeding the master cylinder on a workbench should occur before fitting it to the Brake Booster. Fasten the master cylinder mounting nuts with 25 n.m (18 lb ft) torque while installing them. Squeeze the plugs out from the brake pipes after you join the brake pipes to the master cylinder then fasten the fittings at 18 n.m (13 lb ft). Start by reconnecting the electrical Brake Fluid Level Sensor connector then reinstall the underhood electrical center and terminate the hydraulic brake system drainage with bleeding.
