• Q: How to replace the vacuum brake booster on 2007 Chevrolet Equinox?

  A: Begin the vacuum Brake Booster replacement by taking off and putting aside the underhood electrical center. Next, connect the surge tank connector from the coolant surge hose and keep it safe. Take off the mounting nuts from the master cylinder while keeping brake pipes connected then slowly pull the master cylinder away from vacuum booster and set it aside. Take the vacuum booster check valve and hose assembly away from the booster. You must retain all electrical connectors while taking the transaxle control module (TCM) with its bracket out from the strut tower and placing it atop the engine. Take out the Brake Booster push rod-to-Brake Pedal retaining clip as well as the foam washer from the Brake Pedal assembly before you remove the brake pressure modulator valve assembly and its bracket from their positions. Separate the Brake Booster mounting nuts loosely while letting the foam insulator inside the Brake Booster mounting surface come out naturally. Detach the Brake Booster from both its dash and pedal connections before shifting it down the middle of the car.
