    Q:
How to replace the brake master cylinder on Chevrolet Equinox? Posted by Customer
    A:
To start replacing the brake master cylinder drain the brake fluid out from the reservoir with proper tools before disposing it properly. Disconnect the master cylinder fluid level sensor electrical connection and primary brake pipe fitting without disturbing the fluid. Close the pipe end and install a master cylinder outlet port plug to control fluid loss. Orders the attachment of the secondary brake pipe fitting just like before. Sever the 2 master cylinder nuts then extract the master cylinder. With new master cylinder installation remove both the reservoir and cap from the factory part and discard the retention pins and seals. Plug the master cylinder outlet until you put new reservoir seals into place and restore the cylinder assembly with fresh retaining pins. Test the new master cylinder brake function through a bleeding process before adding it to the vehicle. Mount the master cylinder into its place and fasten it with both master cylinder nuts before tightening the nuts to 25 Nm (18 lb ft). Join the master cylinder fluid sensor electrical connector before tightening the primary and secondary brake pipe fittings to 18 Nm (13 lb ft). End the brake fluid bleeding process.
