How to Replace the Rear Brake Disc (Except Dual Wheels) on 2007 Chevrolet Express 3500?

Before working with the rear Brake Disc you must safely lift and release the parking brake. Take out the tire and wheel set before noting how the disc connects with the hub base. A c-clamp should push brake caliper pistons together so you can take out the caliper unit. Place heavy mechanic wire under the brake caliper to stop hydraulic brake hose harm. Detach the brake caliper and bracket together as one piece while keeping the hydraulic hose sealed. If necessary disconnect the disc retaining push nuts from the wheel studs. Sometimes removing a disc proves challenging but using a deadblow hammer against the hub or disc softens the resistance while the rotor removal tool (J-46277) paired with the slide hammer with adapter (J 2619-01) makes the disc easy to detach. Check the park brake parts for damage then replace the affected pieces. Clean the hub with wheel hub resurfacing kit (J 42450-A) while using rotor resurfacing kit (J 41013) to prepare surface of Brake Disc for installation. Make sure mating components have no dust or dirt when you put the disc in position. During brake system repair check the lro measurement of your assembled disc and adjust it when the value surpasses permitted specifications. Connect the disc to the axle centerline by steadily rotating it towards the hub and attach the brake mount components afterward. Apply threadlocker gm p/n 12345493 (Canadian P/N 10953488) before installing the caliper bracket bolts after cleaning their threads. The bolts for jh5 need to be tightened to 148 lb ft while jh6/jh7 bolts require a torque of 221 lb ft. Place the tire wheel on the vehicle then lower it down before pressing and releasing the brake pedal multiple times to seat the brake pads correctly before filling the reservoir with fresh brake fluid.
