- Q: How to replace the canister purge valves on 2007 Chevrolet HHR?A: To replace the evaporative emission canister purge solenoid valve first take out the air cleaner assembly from the studs and set it aside. Remove the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge valve electrical connector , the evap canister purge valve tube from the Intake Manifold, and the chassis evap vapor line from the evap canister purge valve. Next, to remove the evap canister purge valve bracket bolt and take out the evap canister purge valve and bracket, add the evap canister purge valve bracket bolt. Remove the evap canister purge valve from the bracket and check ports for carbon. If loose carbon is found, replace the evap canister and any required parts to remove the particles. In case of installation, connect the evap canister purge valve to the bracket, then place the assembly replacing the bracket on the Cylinder Head. Install the bolt for the evap canister purge valve bracket and torques it to 18 n.m (13 lb ft). Connect the evap canister purge valve tube to the Intake Manifold as well as the chassis evap vapor line to the evap canister purge valve and the electric connection. Finally, reposition the air cleaner assembly and fit it onto the studs.
