  A: To start replacement of the Turn Signal Switch you need to shut down the SIR system. Before further disassembly keep track of the connector which exits through the abrasion sleeve on the steering column wire harness. Take off the wire harness assembly before disconnecting the turn signal and switch assembly from its SIR coil connector. Take the two connectors of the turn signal and switch assembly out from the bulkhead connection point. Take the turn signal and switch assembly by removing the two screws from the steering column tilt head. Set the turn signal and switch assembly on the steering column tilt head while letting the electrical contact touch the turn signal cancel cam part. Install the two pan head screws into their positions and tighten them to 1 N.m (11 lb in). Push both connectors into the bulkhead connector then join the turn signal switch assembly plug to the SIR coil socket. Snap the abrasion sleeve back onto the steering column wire harness following the correct alignment of the ignition wires and their connector. Put the wire harness assembly into the wire strap and add back the upper and lower trim pieces before making the SIR system online.
