  • Q: How to replace the Brake Pedal Assembly on 2007 Chevrolet Malibu?
A: First, remove the knee bolster and the closeout panel in order to replace the Brake Pedal assembly. Separate the electrical connector from the brake apply sensor and disconnect the Steering Column assembly from the motor car. Then remove the Brake Pedal pushrod retaining clip , wave washers , and the brake booster pushrod from the Brake Pedal pin . Pull off the two Brake Pedal assembly to cowl mounting nuts and the three Brake Pedal assembly to instrument panel (I/P) carrier bolt, and then remove the Brake Pedal assembly from the vehicle. When installing, fit the Brake Pedal assembly again into the car and attach back the three Brake Pedal assembly to i/p carrier bolts and tighten up to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). Then, install the two Brake Pedal assembly to cowl mounting nuts and tighten down to 15 n.m (11 lb ft). Replace the Brake Pedal pushrod holding clip, the wave washers, and brake booster pushrod to the Brake Pedal pin. Lastly, you can put in the closeout panel and the knee bolster back in, along with the Brake Pedal position sensor.
