2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Lash Adjuster Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the Lash Adjusters (LY2 and LY6) on 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500?
A: Begin Lash Adjuster replacement by starting with the Cylinder Head alongside gasket removal then moving to 211 guide bolts for lash adjusters. Remove Lash Adjuster guides (210) while removing adjusters maintaining the installed position records because guides' notched area requires alignment with engine block locating tab. Place lash adjusters (209) aside from guide (210) then note component positions if reassembly will require these markers. The lash adjusters require cleaning and inspection before installation. The lash adjusters (209) receive clean engine oil as lubrication before being inserted into the adjuster guides (210) where the flat tops on the adjusters must align with the bore's flat surfaces while the adjusters move fully into position. Put together engine block and guide (210) while observing fastener notice before tightening guide bolts to 12 n.m (106 lb in) and replacing the Cylinder Head with its gasket.
