2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Shock Absorber Parts and Q&A
Q: How to replace the shock absorber on 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500?
A: The replacement of the Shock Absorber (1500) starts with lifting and supporting the vehicle while supporting the rear axle. The first step includes taking out the upper Shock Absorber nut followed by the bolt and next the lower Shock Absorber nut and bolt to extract the Shock Absorber. Installation starts with installing the new Shock Absorber before tightening it with upper Shock Absorber hardware and following the fastener notice. Fasten the new lower Shock Absorber nut and bolt before securing both the upper and lower Shock Absorber bolts to 115 n.m (85 lb ft). Remove the rear axle support along with the safety stands as installation progresses until the vehicle reaches the floor level.
