How to replace the Air Bag Sensor for Side Impact on 2007 GMC Canyon?

Prior to changing the Inflatable Restraint Side Impact Sensor manipulate the SIR system into an off state. You must remove the front door trim panel while peeling away the rear half of the water deflector to find the side impact sensor. Unbolt the sensor from its door base and remove the electrical connection. Clean the mounting area where the sensor will be placed after sensor removal. Ensure all dirt and grease are fully cleared from this space. The new side impact sensor must be positioned flat against the door you must connect its electrical connection. Fasten the sensor in place with screws which need to be tightened to 9 N.m (79 lb in). Put together the water deflector completely before reinstalling the door trim panel. Finally, enable the SIR system.
