How to replace the front side door hinge on 2008 Buick LaCrosse?

Apply masking tape around the fender and door edges before starting to change the front side door hinge. Begin by opening and supporting the door before you clean its hinge area and write down its spot with a grease marker. When the upper hinge fails, begin by removing the upper hinge bolts which should be done in order (1, 4) at the door and finishing with (1, 4, 5) at the hinge pillar. The lower hinge repair starts by removing the bolts from the door side in sequence 3-2 and then proceeding to take out the hinge pillar side bolts in sequence 3-2. To install the new hinge on the door position the parts along the marks registered on both the hinge pillar and door. Fasten the lower hinge bolts to the hinge pillar side in the order (3, 2) while torquing them to 33 N.m (24 lb ft). Tighten the lower hinge bolts to 33 N.m (24 lb ft) after installing them to the door side following the sequence (3, 2). The installation process starts with upper hinge bolts at the hinge pillar side moving from sequence (1, 4, 5) then tightening them at 33 N.m (24 lb-ft) followed by the upper hinge bolts on the door side that should install according to sequence (1, 4) and tightness set at 33 N.m (24 lb-ft). Finish by taking away the support from the door after checking its functionality and removing the masking tape.
