    A: Before replacing the rear side door hinge users should tape the door edge with masking tape to stop paint damage. Hold the door onto its vehicle position while completing this work. You need to open the front door to check the rear door hinge position without opening or disassembling the rear door. Apply grease pencil marks on the hinge location after cleaning its surrounding area. The repair of a broken upper hinge begins with bolt removal starting at sequence (1, 4) from the door edge then proceeding with sequence (1, 4) from the hinge pillar side. When replacing a lower hinge, begin by uninstalling the lower bolts from the door side using the sequence (3-2). Afterwards, remove the bolts from the hinge pillar side in the same order (3-2) before extracting the defective hinge. Place the new hinge directly on its alignment marks which are found on the hinge pillar and door side. Tighten the lower hinge bolts installed on the hinge pillar side in sequence (3, 2) until they reach 33 N.m (24 lb ft). Afterwards install and tighten the same bolts to the door side in the same sequence. The hinge installation process begins with fitting the upper bolts at the hinge pillar side according to (1, 4) then tightening each bolt to 33 N.m (24 lb ft). Afterward, apply the same sequence to install and tighten the upper hinge bolts at the door side up to 33 N.m (24 lb ft). Unwrap the masking tape while validating correct operation after which you can remove the supporting tools from the door.
