Place an oil drain pan under the engine oil Drain Plug before you remove that plug. The engine oil Drain Plug requires cleaning and inspection followed by repair or replacement if needed. Additionally the Oil Pan's sealing surface needs cleaning and inspection with replacement of the Oil Pan when required. Next, remove the Oil Filter. Apply small drops of clean oil to the replacement gasket before mounting the new Oil Filter by carefully turning it 3/4 to 1 complete turn once gasket makes contact with the surface. Connect the engine oil Drain Plug using 20 n.m (15 lb ft) of torque before you take off the oil drain pan. Lower the vehicle before filling the engine with new engine oil but verify the recommended fluid amounts during filling time.
